Simplifying the Maze: Crafting Clear Public Forms with Service Design
Experience the service Design impact while diving into the bureaucratic maze of complex forms. Within our 3.5-hour, practical workshop session, we will use a service design approach to simplify public administration forms together. You will learn how we implement the approach in the city of Cologne, the strategy behind it and the current challenges we face. The workshop combines concise theory on plain language, forms, and user testing with Service Design experience from the public sector. We will share our insights on adapting Service Design processes, structures and language for public administrations. (There will also be an opportunity to share your experiences with forms, the frustrations they cause, and their simplification.)

Paul studied design at the Köln International School of Design and has worked for the Innovation Office of the City of Cologne for over five years. During this time, he has led various projects with different departments within the city and with external partners, as well as delivering trainings to public servants. He recently broadened his knowledge of the field by completing a Master's degree in Public Administration at HWR Berlin.
